Let’s say you live in New York in the USA, but you are from Nice in France, you can decide for family reasons to return to France to get married on the Côte d’Azur.
You are a wine lover and you live in France, far from a wine region, you choose to get married in a beautiful castle in Bordeaux.
You have always dreamed of discovering Africa but the opportunity has never really presented itself and you say to yourself, let’s kill 2 birds with one stone, are we going to get married in Zanzibar for example?
This is destination wedding, getting married in a place different from your place of residence for whatever reason. The chosen destination is often a function of desires, family or emotional ties or memories.
This type of wedding appeared as a fashion a few years ago by a privileged few, and since then has become established and democratized for our great happiness. This is explained by our consumption habits which have evolved, the explosion of social networks which open the doors of the world at our fingertips.
Travel has become part of our consumption habits, it is no longer just reserved for long holidays or business trips. The desire to touch other customs, landscapes that we see through the networks, the media and which already seem familiar to us, is lifted from several veils such as the fear of the unknown.
